DNA magazine of Australia covers Jake Cruise in an article about straight guys in gay porn.  An excerpt follows below.

He likes to film!

What’s it like being a webmaster of a “gaight” (gay and straight) website? Jake Cruise of www.jakecruise.com knows.

DNA: How do you turn straight guys gay for a day?
Jake: It varied depending on the guys. With Mikael it was one year of begging and with Jason it was two. In a nutshell, the guy has to get to know me and realize I’m not a threat. I always tell them that I’ve had sex with women, but that doesn’t make me straight. Of course the money they make as actors helps as well.

Quincy came in hoping to do straight porn. I told him he would make $150 for a scene, but that he could make $800 on my site. He went home and asked his girlfriend who told him he was crazy not to do it. So sometimes I get a little help from the girlfriends. One guy would only do the scene if his wife was present. I have a feeling this was one of her demands. So here I was, sucking off this muscle jock and his wife was sitting there watching the whole time.

Are sites such as yours a reaction against the sexless “queer eye” face of gaydom?
I don’t think so. My site is about fun sex. I don’t think people expect to see sex of any kind of TV — at least not in America — and gay porn has been around a lot longer than gay characters on TV.

Are straight guys hotter than gay guys?
To me, not at all. I don’t use straight guys because they’re straight. I use them because there are nine times more of them than gay guys, but my site has a lot of totally gay men on it who didn’t need any conversion. My site doesn’t focus on the model’s sexuality.

I don’t say that someone is straight when I know for a fact that they are not. That said, straight sells better and I assume this is because a lot of gay men fantasize about it. In college, I fell in love with a straight guy and it was an emotional disaster, so I don’t fantasize about it at all.

Straight boy-on-straight boy sex is hotting up the internet at the moment. How much competition is there in the “straight acting” web world?
There’s quite a few “reality” or “amateur” based sites, but my site is different to most because I participate in most of the scenes.

To be successful on the internet you have to find a niche. Mine happens to be the one where a middle-aged average Joe, or Jake, gets to have sex with hot studs. Sometimes I service them, sometimes I fuck them and sometimes they fuck me. But in all scenes I always try to show that sex can be messy and funny.

I think mainstream porn is so impersonal and dry. It’s all about perfect people having perfect sex in perfect situations. I show sex how it really is, at least in front of a camera.

Do you identify as gay yourself?
Hell, yes. I’ve been out since I was 15.

Do you pay your models a fee to appear on your site?
All performers are paid. This is a business and I run it like one. When I first started, I placed ads in a local newspaper. I still do that every once in a while, but now most models are either referrals from other models, or guys who apply online at my site.

By far my hottest find in recent times has been Tommy. He is the most popular guy by a mile. He’s a guy who thought he was completely straight. He’d never thought of having sex with another guy before, but once he did, he liked it so much that he now considers himself bisexual.

What are your future plans?
I would love to come to Australia and do some shoots with those incredibly hot Aussie men. I’ve always wanted to go to Australia and this would be a great reason to do so.

He likes to fuck!

What’s it like being a straight guy on a gay site? Mikael knows.

A part time worker on Jake Cruise’s website and also his current cameraman, Mikael initially did a couple of solo scenes for Jake, Then Jake convinced him to let him suck him off. “We followed with a massage scene where I sucked him too,” Jake recalls.

“Most recently we did a scene where I stuck dildos up his as,” says Jake. “His girlfriend fucks him with a strap-on, so he was already used to getting something up his ass. Finally, I got him to do a scene with Jason, who is also his friend. Jason fucked Mikael bareback in this scene. It was awesome, but Mikael said he would never do it again. He only really wants to do straight porn. He’s done a couple of straight films already, under a different name of course.”

DNA: How did a straight boy like you get into this line of work?
Mikael: I always wanted to do porn and first started doing bukake videos [lots of guys cum on a girl’s face] about three years ago. Las year I answered Jake’s ad in the LA Weekly to do a solo scene. That’s all I was going to do — jack off solo for Jake, but he drove a good bargain.

Do you identify as gay, straight, bi or otherwise?
Totally straight.

Had you done anything like this before your appearance on the site?
Never. Not on camera or off.

Were you nervous or worried someone might find out, or was it cool?
I don’t care about the jacking off, or even getting sucked. I am still worried about people finding out that a guy fucked me. It’s derailed my straight porn career for now.

Do you have a partner — what do they think of your work?
My girlfriend is on the wild side and likes to watch the movies that I’m in, even the gay ones. It gets her hot and I fuck her while she watches me on the TV.

What’s your best body feature?
I guess my cock. I don’t think it’s a big deal. Personally, I’m proud of my body. I work hard at it, eating right and working out.

Is there anything you won’t do?
Well, the only thing left is rimming a guy. So, yes, I won’t rim a guy.

What’s your favorite thing to do?
On the site? Wow, that’s a hard one. Since I’m straight, I don’t really like anything too much. I mind being sucked the least. I absolutely hated kissing Jason.

Have you been recognized?
Yep. My agent called and left me a message that he couldn’t represent me any more because I had had “homosexual contact”. I also had an old gay acquaintance call me the other day and give me shit about being on the site. He doesn’t believe I’m straight.

What advice would you give to others who might want to do what you do?
If you’re gay, go for it, especially with Jake. He makes it very comfortable and fun. If you’re straight and want a career in straight porn, I would probably hold off unless you’re absolutely desperate for money.
